BrE template
[edit]Have you considered that this template might belong on the talk page instead of main namespace? Generally meta-templates belong on talk pages as they mean nothing to non-editors (e.g. mirrors). Joe D (t) 16:39, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you for the suggestion. It is still in testing stage. Please comment on it. Cheung1304 16:45, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I agree. This isn't a good idea on the main page, but with some reformatting it might have a place on the talk page. On the formatting, the see also list is perhaps too long - you might consider using a meta link page to list the relevant MoS sections. -- Solipsist 06:59, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Would editor read the talk page before editing the main article? Cheung1304 13:32, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)

- It is recommended in the various Introductions to Wikipedia and FAQs. But it is also obvious that many people don't read the talk page before editing. However, things that go on the main article page are mostly for the readers not the editors. Meta-information, or notes for editors, should go on the talk page. -- Solipsist 09:46, 17 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- The templates are also for readers. Some readers may use or cite the resources on Wikipedia. The templates help them make necessary conversion between different variants of the English language. Cheung1304 16:04, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- (Answer to Cheung1304) Not necessarily. But I agree with the others that it's not a good idea to put the template on the article/project page itself. I'd suggest putting a simple comment at the top on the "edit page". See for example in the Australia article: [1]
- I just focus on spelling, because usage of words/grammar/punctuation is a broad topic...
- Have a look at User:SpNeo. What do you think, maybe the format could be expanded, standardized? SpNeo 09:43, 17 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- It's cool. Cheung1304 16:04, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Tagging pages proposal
[edit]Hi there, I'm writing because at some point you showed interest in a proposal to solve the problems related to national varieties of English. There is a discussion and a vote ongoing here. Please take a look and let us know what you think. Thanks. PizzaMargherita 14:39, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
